Last week’s road trip was to the Science Museum of Richmond, Virginia—this week, we’ll be going outdoors. Stevens Pass Mountain Resort, located on the crest of the Cascade Range in Washington State, is most famous for winter getaways, but is quickly becoming a summer destination as well!
During the summer, visitors are welcome to take scenic rides on the Hogsback Chairlift and enjoy the majestic vistas of Stevens Pass as well as the Cascade Mountains. Stevens Pass also has a new bike park perfect for mountain biking. During winter-time, Stevens Pass, one of the Northwest’s most famous resorts, offers 10 lifts, more than 1,125 acres of skiable terrain, 37 primary runs, and a base village surrounded by three day lodges. Throughout the winter, visitors flock to the resort to get the best ski and snowboard experience.
Stevens Pass is a locally-owned company dedicated to maintaining the environment and regional climate of the Pacific Northwest. In fact, Stevens Pass has received multiple industry and governmental awards for environmental achievement. The company heavily emphasizes sustainability and thus has two electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the resort. The resort is actually the first to install charging stations located in a mountain pass environment. Once unlocked with a swipe pass, up to 4 vehicles can charge at once at the 240-volt chargers provided by Coulomb Technologies. The well-lit charging stations are available for anyone to use, 24 hours a day, all year-round. While visitors are skiing, mountain biking, or hiking from the trailhead of the Pacific Crest Trail, their plug-in cars can gain about 15 miles of range for every hour of charging.
