With the ever growing presence of smart devices, it seems as though there is an app for everything—from streaming music to looking up flights. Luckily, EV automakers are taking advantage of the popularity and convenience of smartphones by developing useful applications. For example, Ford created their own smartphone app for their Focus Electric. Their app, MyFordMobile can schedule times when you want your car to be charged, track driver habits, as well as perform many other functions.
Some other great apps available for electric vehicles include:
Xatori PlugShare: With the world’s most popular app for locating EV charging stations, you can see charging station availability in real-time and add new stations to help the EV community grow
Recargo: The app helps you find EV charging stations, plan trips, share photos, as well as receive the latest updates from PluginCars.com and Recargo
Coulomb Technologies’ ChargePoint: Use this app to get the status on your current or most recent charging session (the amount of energy used, greenhouse gas savings, etc.), get directions to charging stations, and more.
BattSix: The app maximizes life from your golf car or neighborhood electric vehicle battery pack by keeping track of the depth of discharge and balance of the individual batteries.
