Limburg Elektrisch hosted the Limburg Province’s Sustainable Mobility Week in Venlo Floriade, Netherlands with a few goals in mind. One of which was to hold a world record—more specifically, the record for simultaneous EV charging.  As a result, on May 9th, no less than 60 charging stations provided by DBT CEV (GNS model, 11kW) were accessible to the public with the hopes of charging the greatest number of electric vehicles possible at the same time.

The initiative was mainly to educate and demonstrate to the public how appealing and manageable the electric grid was, even at the network’s peak load at the local level and in real conditions. Not to mention, about 43 electric vehicles from different automakers, including the Nissan Leaf and Peugeot iOn, made for a truly exciting event. With so many different automakers on board and the success of the event, there was greater awareness of the importance of EV charging infrastructure availability as a key reason for switching over to electric vehicles.
